Patrick Breen Masonry & Concrete has been South Jersey's concrete contractor since 1983. What started as a one-man operation out of Mullica Hill has grown into a full-service concrete and masonry company now in its third generation — but we still run every project the same way: our own crew, quality materials, honest pricing, and craftsmanship you can see in the finished product.

We handle every type of residential and commercial concrete work across South Jersey. Stamped concrete is our specialty — it's what we're known for and what we do more of than anyone in the area — but we're equally experienced with plain concrete driveways, sidewalks, foundations, masonry, hardscaping, and full outdoor living builds. If it involves concrete, stone, or brick in South Jersey, we do it.

Unlike many concrete contractors who subcontract their labor, every project we take on is completed by our own experienced crew. You'll see the same faces from demolition day through the final sealer coat. That's how we maintain the quality and consistency that's kept us in business for 43+ years — and it's why homeowners from Cherry Hill to Swedesboro to Marlton keep hiring us and referring their neighbors.

Our Concrete Services

What We Build

From simple sidewalks to full outdoor living transformations — we handle every phase of every project with our own crew.

Stamped Concrete Patios & Outdoor Living

Our #1 specialty. We pour, stamp, color, and seal custom patios in dozens of patterns — ashlar slate, flagstone, wood plank, cobblestone, herringbone, and more. Options include multi-level patios, built-in fire pit pads, seat walls, and seamless transitions to pool decks or walkways. Every patio is poured with 4,000+ PSI concrete on a compacted stone base with proper drainage grading.

Concrete Driveways

We install both stamped decorative driveways and traditional white concrete driveways. Every driveway includes full demo and removal of the old surface, sub-grade preparation, compacted stone base, fiber mesh or rebar reinforcement, and proper joint placement for South Jersey's freeze-thaw cycles. Stamped driveway options include ashlar slate, European fan, herringbone brick, and random stone patterns.

Pool Decks & Coping

Stamped concrete pool decks are our second most-requested project. We install slip-resistant, cool-to-the-touch surfaces with patterns and colors that complement your pool coping and landscape. Options include bullnose coping integration, expansion joint design for pool-adjacent pours, and light-colored finishes that reflect heat instead of absorbing it.

Walkways, Sidewalks & Steps

Front entry walkways, patio-to-pool paths, side yard access, garden paths, and ADA-compliant commercial walkways. Our step installations include stamped concrete risers, Trex-capped treads, and paver-wrapped designs. Every walkway is graded for drainage and poured on a prepared base to prevent settling and cracking.

Masonry & Stone Veneer

Full masonry services including stone veneer facades, retaining walls, mailbox columns, wing walls, outdoor fireplaces, and brick repair. We work with natural stone, manufactured stone, brick, and block. Our masons handle both new construction and restoration of existing masonry — repointing, crack repair, and structural rebuilds.

Outdoor Kitchens & Living Spaces

Complete outdoor kitchen builds with concrete countertops, stone veneer islands, built-in grills, pizza ovens, refrigerator cutouts, and sink plumbing rough-ins. We also build pergolas, custom water features, ponds, and full backyard living environments that combine multiple elements — patio, kitchen, fire feature, and seating — into a cohesive design.

Concrete Resealing & Restoration

Stamped concrete needs resealing every 2–3 years. We strip old sealer, clean the surface, repair any minor damage, restore color where needed, and apply fresh sealer with non-slip additive. We reseal concrete we poured and concrete installed by other contractors. Regular resealing is the single best investment you can make to extend the life and appearance of your stamped concrete.

Decorative Overlays & Epoxy Flooring

For interior spaces, garages, and basement floors, we offer decorative epoxy and overlay systems. Options include metallic epoxy, flake systems, and stamped overlays — each custom-mixed to your color preferences and applied with commercial-grade materials that resist stains, moisture, and heavy traffic.

How It Works

Our Concrete Project Process

Every project follows a proven process refined over 43+ years and 2,167+ completed jobs.

Free On-Site Estimate

We visit your property, take measurements, discuss your goals, review pattern and color options, and give you an honest, detailed price — no pressure, no obligation.

Design & Finalize

Choose your patterns, colors, and features. We bring physical stamp samples and color charts so you see and touch exactly what your finished project will look like. Try our interactive project builder to get started.

Demo & Base Prep

We remove the old surface, re-grade for proper drainage, and compact a crushed stone base. This is where most contractors cut corners — and where problems start 2 years later. We don't skip steps.

Form, Pour & Finish

Steel forms are set to exact grade. We pour 4,000+ PSI concrete reinforced with fiber mesh or rebar, then stamp, color, and detail every surface by hand.

Detail & Cure

Expansion joints are cut, edges are detailed, and the concrete cures under controlled conditions. We monitor curing to ensure maximum strength and durability.

Seal, Clean & Walk-Through

After curing, we apply a professional-grade sealer with non-slip additive, clean up the entire site, and do a final walk-through with you to make sure everything meets your expectations.

Common Questions

Concrete Contractor FAQ

How much does concrete work cost in South Jersey?
Costs vary by project type. Plain concrete driveways typically run $8–$12 per square foot. Stamped concrete patios range from $12–$25 per square foot depending on the pattern, number of colors, and complexity. Walkways and steps usually fall between $1,500 and $5,000 depending on size and design. We provide free on-site estimates with exact pricing for your specific project — no guessing, no ballparks.
How do I choose a concrete contractor in South Jersey?
Start by verifying their NJ Home Improvement Contractor license (13VH format) through the Division of Consumer Affairs. Check that they carry liability insurance and workers' compensation. Read their Google reviews — look for volume and specifics, not just star ratings. Ask who actually does the work (their own crew or subcontractors), what PSI concrete they pour, how they prepare the base, and whether demolition and cleanup are included in the price. A legitimate contractor will answer all of these confidently.
How long does a concrete project take?
Most residential concrete projects take 2–5 working days depending on scope. A typical patio takes 2–3 days, a driveway 3–5 days, and walkways/steps 1–2 days. After the pour, concrete needs 24–48 hours before foot traffic and about 7 days before vehicle traffic. We provide a clear timeline during your estimate so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you only do stamped concrete?
No — stamped concrete is our specialty, but we handle all concrete and masonry work. That includes plain white concrete driveways and sidewalks, colored concrete, decorative overlays, epoxy flooring, stone veneer, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and full masonry construction and repair. If it involves concrete, stone, or brick, we do it.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every project is completed by our own experienced crew. We never subcontract to day laborers or whoever's available that week. The same skilled professionals handle your job from demolition through final sealer coat. This is one of the biggest differences between us and many other concrete contractors in South Jersey.
What is the best time of year to pour concrete in New Jersey?
The ideal concrete season in South Jersey runs from April through November. Concrete needs temperatures above 50°F to cure properly. Spring is our busiest booking season — most homeowners who want summer projects should get estimates in February or March to secure a spot on our schedule.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Patrick Breen Masonry & Concrete is fully licensed through the State of New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registry, and we carry full liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. We pull permits when required and build to local building code standards. We're happy to provide proof of insurance and licensing upon request.
What areas in South Jersey do you serve?
We serve all of South Jersey including Mullica Hill, Washington Township, Sewell, Turnersville, Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Voorhees, Marlton, Medford, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Glassboro, Pitman, Swedesboro, Woolwich, Deptford, West Deptford, Williamstown, Sicklerville, Hammonton, Egg Harbor Township, and surrounding communities in Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, and Atlantic counties.
